Description:

Hopscotch Care Ltd operates 2 homes: One in Carnforth (Lancashire) which is a 4-bed home with a single occupancy annex nearby, the other in Carlisle (Cumbria) which accommodates up to 5 young people. Both are mixed homes catering for 11-17 year olds experiencing emotional and behavioural challenges.

Additional therapeutic support is provided by our own psychologist who carries out the Berri analysis with each young person every three months and supports the development of therapeutic plans for young people. This has contributed significantly to a reduction in incidents of self-harm and missing from home, and has helped to achieve the Outstanding and Good grades for the homes.

Staff are trained in and have experience of working with young people at risk of CSE and self-harming . Hopscotch has a track record in successfully engaging young people in a range of educational activities and we focus on a well planned transition.

The location of both homes enables access to numerous local sports clubs, and leisure activities, both are also within easy reach of the outdoor benefits of the Lake District.

We endeavour to keep at the forefront of best practice in order to ensure that the requirements of the Quality Standards are met. Hopscotch now use the ClearCare software and database throughout the company to assist with accurate recording of young people’s progress, ensuring care plans, key worker sessions and risk assessments are relevant and up-to-date.
The company is in the process of opening a third home in 2018 near Morecambe. This will also be a four bed EBD home for 12-17 year old boys and girls.
