Description:

Acorn House is a small residential unit based in Armthorpe on the outskirts of Doncaster.

Acorn House can house up to three young people aged 6-19 years. The main aim of the service is to work with children and young people with the long-term plan; they can either move to a family placement, return to their family of origin or into independence, having experienced a sustained period of stability.

Our overall aim is to provide a safe, warm, nurturing and empowering environment for young people to begin to form more secure attachments.  Terry Carr Acorn House’ Registered Manager has 17
years’ experience in working with Children and young people with various problems, including Autistic spectrum disorder, complex learning disabilities, CEBD and many other problems. This includes 15 years’ managerial experience in the roles of team, care and registered manager, ensuring that quality care is available to all the young people his care.

Also qualified to deliver staff training and licensed to deliver PROACT-SCIPuk® (Positive Range of Options to avoid Crisis and use Therapy-Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention) and TCI (Therapeutic Crisis Intervention).
